Whats App is facing a Server ISSUE right now , if you see your Contact list you will notice every user is having “Error: Status Unavailable” as his Status although if you go in Whats App > Status you can Keep a new Status but to others the same error message will appear ..
This WhatsApp Server Error gave Birth to a Viral Campaign of Hoax Messages (all those who started it : YOU SUCK) one of such message stated:
‘Whatsapp is shutting down on 28th jan Message from Jim Balsamic (CEO of Whatsapp) we have had an over usage of user names on whatsapp Messenger. We are requesting all users to forward this message to their entire contact list. If you do not forward this message, we will take it as your account is invalid and it will be deleted within the next 48 hours. Please DO NOT ignore this message or whatsapp will no longer recognise your activation. If you wish to re-activate your account after it has been deleted, a charge of 25.00 will be added to your monthly bill. We are also aware of the issue involving the pictures updates not showing. We are working diligently at fixing this problem and it will be up and running as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation from the Whatsapp team..:) FINAL WARNING! If your WhatsApp status is error:status unavailable then you are not frequent user and by 5:00pm C.A.T WhatsApp will start charging you. To become a frequent user send this message to 10 people who receive it.’
After this I had to ask this Trash with Brian , but they already stated the clarification.
also on Whats App Facebook Status Page you will find similar down-time posts..
Even Updating your Profile Image from WhatsApp > Setting > Profile updates your image but for other users the new image is not reflected on their devices , rather Whats App users see the Old Display picture against your Name
Lets Wait for the Services to get back to normal and please no need to spread the Hoax Messages, it does no good
as the message by Whats App says WhatsApp status functionality is currently not available. We are working on resolving it soon-ish… Soonish , means “Problem not yet identified bear with us“.
TO FIX This Issue, People are hinting towards Restarting the Phone and Some have even gone Far by uninstalling the App and then again installing it after a Fresh Download BUT let me remind you that wont help yet, it didnt for me. Did it helped you ?
