Microsoft Edge battery consumption is just another troll

Microsoft Today came up with a battery comparison among different browsers and to sum it up they say that it will give you a 70% longer battery life as compared to a laptop running Chrome. This is not the first time , they even once came up with a more aggressive video and attacking Google Privacy Invasion tactics (which is true by the way)

How the tests were conducted

Microsoft connected a Surface Book to specialized power monitoring equipment and measured the real power usage during typical browsing activities in Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera. Microsoft then automated each browser to perform the same series of activities: opening websites, scrolling through articles, and watching videos, opening new tabs for each task. They used the same websites you spend your time on – Facebook, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia and more.

For these browsing activities, their tests show Microsoft Edge is a more energy-efficient browser on Windows 10, with up to 36%-53% more battery life, the stats are nice but i find it desperate

Real Life Stats – Windows still collecting data

Microsoft even went ahead and made public stats which they have gathered through Windows 10 Users (that’s what we know of , i wonder what else they have collected , everything ? ). Microsoft measure aggregated telemetry from millions of Windows 10 devices around the world. The billions of data points from these devices are consistent with the lab results as per Microsoft as we can not know for sure :
